Cartoon Dogs - Round 1

Cartoon Dogs

You love them. We love them. They're infinitely pettable, they're loyal, they're great at fetch... and they're animated. They're cartoon dogs, and these are the best of the best. But which is the best of the best of the best?? There's only one way to find out! VOTE!

(1) Snoopy vs. (16) Bandit

Snoopy

Snoopy’s been with us since 1950, and he’s given us unforgettable characters like Joe Cool and a British World War I flying ace (always on the trail of the Red Baron). He’s been our best friend and constant companion, even on dark and stormy nights.

Bandit

Patriarch of the Heeler family, plays games with his daughters and teaches life lessons along the way.

(8) Brian Griffin vs. (9) Huckleberry Hound

Brian Griffin

Maybe the smartest member of the Griffin family, Brian is a struggling writer, an alcoholic, and is not quite as clever as he wishes he were. But he’s Stewie’s best friend, and that’s good enough for us.

Huckleberry Hound

Created in 1958 by Hanna-Barbera, HH always found a way to succeed even in the silliest of circumstances.

(5) Clifford the Big Red Dog vs. (12) Underdog

Clifford the Big Red Dog

Star of books, television, and now the big screen, Clifford the Big Red Dog is beloved by all, especially Emily Elizabeth, his owner. He’s 25 feet tall, and he’s always in the middle of some hijinks.

Underdog

Created in 1964, Underdog and his mild mannered alter-ego Shoeshine Boy, would appear when Sweet Polly Purebred was having a rough time. And he almost always spoke in rhyme.

(4) Pluto vs. (13) McGruff the Crime Dog

Pluto

Pluto is one of the oldest dogs in the bracket - he debuted in 1930! As Mickey Mouse’s official pet, Pluto doesn’t speak… but he is always hilarious, loyal, and trustworthy.

McGruff the Crime Dog

Created in 1980 to increase crime awareness and personal safety, almost everyone has seen a McGruff commercial in their lifetime. In 2008, 28 years after introduction a survey showed 90% of Americans were still familiar with taking a bite out of crime.

(6) Jake the Dog vs. (11) Odie

Jake the Dog

Along with Finn the Human, Jake the Dog is a hero in the land of Ooo. He can shrink, stretch, and generally reshape his body to anything he needs. Oh, and he’s married to a half-rainbow half-unicorn named Lady Rainicorn.

Odie

Jon Arbuckle’s loyal, albeit dense, canine companion. Also the nemesis/target of Arbuckle’s more famous pet, Garfield.

(3) Goofy vs. (14) Gromit

Goofy

First of all… yes, Goofy is a dog. Secondly, while Mickey may be the leader of the gang, Goofy is the heart. He may be a little clumsy, but he always means well.

Gromit

Dogwarts graduate, trusty partner to Wallace, stop motion legend and all-around British icon.

(7) Blue vs. (10) Santa's Little Helper

Blue

Blue, an adorable blue dog who just wants to play a guessing game with you, stole our hearts alongside her friends Sidetable Drawer, Mailbox, Mr. Salt and Mrs. Pepper (and their child Paprika (don’t think too hard about it)). And whether it was Steve, Joe, or Josh hosting, we all know who the star really is.

Santa's Little Helper

The family pet of the first family of animated comedy. Over 30 years he has had no shortage of influence and adventure.

(2) Scooby-Doo vs. (15) Mr. Peabody

Scooby-Doo

No villain is safe with Scoob and the gang around! Sure, he’s a little bit of a chicken, but he’s always up for the challenge… as long as there are Scooby Snacks around.

Mr. Peabody

Smartest being in the world, loving adoptive father, and inventor of the WABAC machine.
