Champions - Round 1b
Bracket of Champions
This is it, folks! The swan song of Bracket of Champions... and so we had to bring out the big guns. This bracket features all past winners of BoC brackets. Who is the greatest Bracket of Champions Champion of all? It's time to vote!
Round 1
(1) Butter v (8) The Princess Bride
Butter convincingly beat mayo in our final battle of condiments with close to 80% of the vote. Butter stands alone as the best food to have on your food!
While the subject of debate about its inclusion in the category at all, The Princess Bride eked out a win over 80s classic Back to the Future to win one of our larger brackets, 80s Comedies. Its continued presence in almost every comment strand on the page shows its strength and that it is a necessary addition to the Champions Bracket.
(4) Kermit v (5) Beauty and the Beast
C'mon, was it ever going to end any other way? Do you picture anyone else first when you hear "The Muppets"? the answer is no and as such Kermit won the bracket that saw our membership grow by the biggest margins.
TWICE!! This movie won Disney brackets twice. It is undefeated in BOC. Beauty and the Beast is truly the Michael Jordan of BOC. Undefeated in the finals.
(3) Sherlock Holmes v (6) Pommel Horse Guy
The case was cracked in our Fictional Detectives bracket as Holmes edged out the Scooby Doo gang in the final. Whether it is the written word, RDJ, Cumberbatch, or even (shudder) Johnny Lee Miller, Sherlock is who the Bracketeers wanted on the case.
PHG narrowly defeated Snoop as our personality of the Summer Olympics. While Snoop clearly has the longevity and will stay a part of our lives long after, PHG and his glasses captured our collective attention more than any other Olympic story in the summer of '24.
(2) Inigo Montoya v (7) Swimming
In addition to teaching us the perfect way to introduce ourselves, Inigo edges out his compatriot Fezzick to win our Princess Bride chracter bracket. Comedy or not, Inigo's win is no laughing matter.
