The 2024 Summer Olympics are in full swing, and they've been a blast. But some personalities--athletes, commentators, comedians, rappers, weird dudes who pick up swim caps--have stolen the spotlight. Who are your favorites?? Vote!
1 Snoop Dogg v 16 Seine Bacteria
Sure, our parents hated him in the 90s. But now he's your grandma's favorite. The poster child for Olympics love, Snoop has captivated audiences with how much he adores these games.
One of the world's most famous rivers has taken center stage, not because of its beauty, but because of how dirty it is. Training for open water swimming has been scrapped five times to this point, and the main culprit is poop in the water. The swimming marathoners will have to conjure their best Andy Dufresne impression to come out on top.
8 Trinity Rodman v 9 Swim Cap Rescue Guy
Trinity Rodman has already been making memories in the 2024 Games. With an extra time goal against Japan, she put the US team on her back to pull out a 1-0 win. The daughter of NBA star Dennis Rodman, Trinity has winning in her blood.
The Swim cap rescue guy, a.k.a Bob the Cap Catcher, is a new icon. Bravely diving into the pool to rescue Emma Weber's lost cap, the entire Olympics-watching world was "cap"tivated by this unlikely hero. The best part? No one knows his real name.
5 Gabby Thomas v 12 Kenan and Kevin
Gabby Thomas is an incredible story, and now she's an Olympic champion too. She won the gold in the 200M and won the hearts of everyone in the USA. Thomas only became a professional runner halfway through her Harvard career. She then won a bronze in Tokyo, a silver at the world championships, and now a gold in Paris.
In an Olympics where the celebrities are stealing the show from the athletes, Kenan Thompson and Kevin Hart are the gold winners. Their Olympic recaps are unbelievably hilarious (just look up their take on the Eel if you don't believe me). And isn't it adorable how Kevin's feet don't touch the floor?
4 Rowdy Gaines v 13 Celine Dion
The voice of swimming, Rowdy Gaines is a U.S. Olympic Hall of Fame member, three-time Olympic gold medalist, and member of the International Swimming Hall of Fame. And while his most notable contribution to these Games has been his voice, his social media accounts are stealing everyone's hearts.
Celine Dion kicked off the Paris Olympic Games in amazing style. Her performance at the Opening Ceremony was one for the ages. And just like the athletes that would follow her, she persevered through medical and emotional trials to put up a gold medal worthy performance.
